CREATIONS IN COLLABORATION WITH FREEBODIES
Il profumo del proibito
(*The Scent of the Forbidden*) is a work created by Nadine Gerspacher in collaboration with the dancers of the young company Freebodies and Ombline Huvelle. The piece transports the audience to a speakeasy, inspired by the atmosphere of the 1930s Prohibition era, where an absurd rule dictates that eating spaghetti is forbidden. Through this unusual premise, the work explores the human desire for the forbidden—the urge to crave, consume, and celebrate what is denied to us. With a narrative that blends humor, poetry, and a powerful physical language, Il profumo del proibito presents an ironic yet profound reflection on the contradictions and peculiarities of our nature. The piece is a celebration of the absurd, where dance becomes a poetic vehicle to explore longing, restrictions, and our ability to laugh at our own rules. Video filmed by Nicolas Clausen during the performance Uprising from the young company freeebodiesat the theatre l ´ Estruch Centro de Creacio in Sabadell.
LAS OTRAS VIUDAS
“Las otras viudas”, the story of the internal revolution of 11 women trying to accept their personal loss in order to find the courage to accept and eventually let go. Vulnerability, humour and the poetry that characterises Nadine Gerspachers work come together in a narrative way in order to shape the opportunity for self-celebration. The short film is amazingly captured by Nicolas Clausen.
