FRE3 BODIES Program
The FRE3 BODIES Program was created to bridge the gap between contemporary movement training and the professional world. Its mission is to support emerging talents in their transition from students to professional artists.
Selected young performers join this initiative to gain a comprehensive understanding of the realities of a career in contemporary dance. The program equips them with essential tools through a range of activities including creation processes, rehearsals, and stage experiences.
Operating as a young company, FRE3 BODIES is based in Barcelona and provides participants with opportunities to enhance their creativity and gain performance experience alongside leading figures in the contemporary dance scene, both nationally and internationally.
Launched in October 2018 by Nadine Gerspacher and Nicolas Ricchini, the program began with fourteen dancers selected from auditions held in June 2018. These dancers embarked on a journey designed to serve as a stepping stone to professional life. Throughout their time in the program, they have worked under the guidance of Nadine Gerspacher and Nicolas Ricchini, and interacted with a diverse range of local, national, and international artists who led various modules.
In October 2019, Ombline Huvelle joined the team as rehearsal director, further supporting and enhancing the program’s development.
CENDRA
“CENDRA” is a tragicomic dance theater piece created by Nadine Gerspacher in collaboration with the dancers of Freebodies BCN and Julien Rossin as the assistant of the creation. The central question posed in the work—what would you do in the last 20 minutes of your life?—transforms into a colorful, humorous, and absurd journey. Through a deep exploration of character work, caricatures, and physical dance theater, the performance is imbued with humor, poetry, and a unique artistic vision.
LAS OTRAS VIUDAS
“Las otras viudas”, the story of the internal revolution of 11 women trying to accept their personal loss in order to find the courage to accept and eventually let go. Vulnerability, humour and the poetry that characterises Nadine Gerspachers work come together in a narrative way in order to shape the opportunity for self-celebration. The short film is amazingly captured by Nicolas Clausen.
