Cia Nadine Gerspacher is an international creative platform for original works and collaborative projects. We specialize in blending dance and theater into poetic, narrative experiences. Nadine Gerspacher’s dance theater is deeply rooted in everyday life, crafting eccentric worlds where absurdity, poetry, and raw physicality converge. Her work explores core human questions like who are we, what do we seek, and what is love? Themes of humor, transformation, and vulnerability are central, presented through powerful dance and acrobatic elements. Our pieces are known for their clear aesthetic, high quality, and socio-critical commentary, designed to captivate and engage audiences of all ages.

Nadine Gerspacher is a renowned dancer, choreographer, and artistic director of Cia Nadine Gerspacher. With over 20 years of international experience, her work spans across leading dance companies and universities. 

Known for her tenure with Montreal’s Dave St. Pierre and her choreography for Cirque du Soleil in 2015, Nadine has been recognized with the Isadora Prize from the Iwanson-sixt Foundation in Munich for her exceptional achievements in contemporary dance.

From 2019 to 2021, she captivated audiences with her trilogy, delving into the complexities of the pre-corona era. Her creative momentum continued in 2022 with the celebrated debut of RE. at Freiburg’s E-werk theatre, a groundbreaking duet with Arias Fernandez that merges Krump and Contemporary dance.

Nadine’s innovative spirit was recognized with the 2022 guest performance funding from Tanzland/Inthega houses, supporting her work from 2023 to 2026. In 2023, her company showcased the compelling piece Das innere Beben at E-werk Freiburg, further solidifying her artistic impact.

In 2024, Nadine collaborates with Vlad Ion on the evocative duet St.earnest, and continues to inspire the next generation of dancers through her programs FreebodiesFreeroots, and Freepulse at Freezone Barcelona,  These programs offer emerging talents over eight months of intensive preparation for professional careers.

Additionally, she partnered with Tina Halford to establish NEXO in Freiburg, Germany. 

Looking ahead to 2025, she will premiere BirdsLAND a new duet with Jonathan Sanchez, promising to be another milestone in her career. Nadine’s dance theater is often celebrated for its tragic-comic universes and poetic lens on life. 

NADINE GERSPACHER

Director. Choreographer. Performer. Teacher.

Ombline Huvelle is a dance artist, pedagogy and holistic art therapist. She dedicates herself to accompanying dancers through their professional education and dance careers, as well as accompanying choreographic processes and creating her own projects.

Her profesional career initiated in 2019 as she became rehearsal director and assistant to the direction of FREE Bodies (Barcelona). The same year, she started working as the artistic assistant of Nadine Gerspacher, an ongoing relationship that inspired and helped build her vision as a creator. Alongside the company she dived deeply into physical theater, the absurd and awakened a strong passion for details and narrative work.

Nowadays, she also creates alongside Nicolas Clause both pieces onscreen and offscreen. She aspires to open creation and research spaces where her therapeutic practice can hold space for the artists to dive deeper into themselves and bring life to pieces that allow for the transformation of the performers as well as the audience.

OMBLINE HUVELLE

Assistant choreographer

Anna Castells, a graduate of Dramatic Arts from the Colegi de Teatre de Barcelona, is an actress and founder of the theater company Les Lloronas.

Her diverse training includes contemporary dance and modern singing. Anna’s theatrical credits includes roles in Jerusalem, Carrer Robadors, La Tendresa, and Bodas de Sangre. She has also assisted director Oriol Broggi and participated in musical projects such as Maremar, El Año Pasado por Agua, and Sonets de Joguina.

Her dual expertise in acting and dance has made her an invaluable dramaturge with Cia Nadine Gerspacher, contributing to projects like Nua and St. Earnest.

ANNA CASTELLS

Dramaturge & Assistant choreographer

Arias Fernández is a dynamic freelance dancer, teacher, and choreographer renowned for his expertise in KRUMP. His dance journey began to shine in 2015 with Cirque du Soleil’s project HEART, under the creative guidance of Nadine Gerspacher.

Arias is a creative force behind several innovative projects, including Aina & Arias, Bioshock, and The Joker Company. As the founder and visionary behind OM RASA, he has developed a unique training method that integrates various dance disciplines.

Arias’s artistry blends Krump, parkour, contemporary dance, partnering, and dance theater, creating a fusion of movement that transcends traditional boundaries. His collaboration with Cia Nadine Gerspacher, starting in 2015, has resulted in performances in pieces like A Sweet Hello, Ever After, Non-upgraded Existence, and RE.

As a prominent figure in the international Krump community, Arias is not only a celebrated performer but also a judge, organizer, and lecturer at global workshops.

AARIAS FERNANDEZ

Performer

Born in Marseille, Julien is a versatile contemporary and hip hop dancer and choreographer.

His training in Barcelona under Anna Sanchez set the foundation for a dynamic career, collaborating with artists such as Nadine Gerspacher, Erre que Erre, Cobosmika, Le Cirque du Soleil, Doria Belanger, Cie RIFT and Cie Elephante. Together with Marc Dosseto, he created two mapping performances for the French Embassy.

In 2018, he founded his own dance company, Les Oiseaux Perchés. His debut piece, Perception, garnered choreography awards from CCN Créteil and Maison de la Danse de Lyon. Supported by Klap Maison pour la danse in Marseille, he continues to push creative boundaries.

In 2021, he collaborated with Cécile Vitrant to create the solo S’Enembra. Alongside his performances, he is dedicated to sharing his craft through workshops with diverse audiences, including children, teenagers, and the deaf community.

His expertise has led to invitations to teach choreography across various European dance programs.

Currently, he is collaborating with Luah Marques on Alto, a new creation that explores the art of vertical dance.

JULIEN ROSSIN

Performer

Born in France, Camille Lejeune began her dance education in pedagogy and jazz dance before discovering contemporary dance in Granada.

She continued her training at the James Carles Choreographic Center in Toulouse and furthered her studies with FREE BODIES in Barcelona in 2019. Camille joined Cia Nadine Gerspacher in 2021, contributing to works such as, The age of aquarium, Non upgraded existence, Das innere Beben, and Edith.

Camille’s versatility as a dancer is complemented by her interests in various dance forms, singing, clowning, and creating imaginative worlds through performance.

CAMILLE LEJEUNE

Performer

She is a Swedish dancer with a deep passion for dance theater. She began her journey at The Ballet Academy of Stockholm.

Later she expanded her training with the Freebodies youth company program in Barcelona. There she connected with Nadine Gerspacher leading to a collaborative partnership that continues to this day. 

Now based in Stockholm, Hedvig has performed in works by renowed choreographers such as Lali Ayguadé, HDN Studio, Anna Källblad, Helena Byström and Uncover Choreography.

She thrives on the fusion of movement and theatrical expression, constantly exploring how these elements shape and evolve the characters she portrays.

HEDVIG EDVALL BONS

Performer

Paula Niehoff, a dancer, choreographer, and trainer, began her dance education in Munich and furthered her studies at ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands.

Her international career has taken her to theaters and dance companies across 11 countries. Paula showcases her own work in various venues, from theaters to schools and care facilities.

She is also a sought-after workshop leader and assistant opera director.

Paula’s artistic focus lies in dance theater, emphasizing stage presence, physical precision, and individuality.

She performs in The age of aquarium and Non upgraded existence.

PAULA NIEHOFF

Performer

Vlad Ion embarked on his dance career as a self-taught breakdancer, eventually expanding his repertoire to include Hip Hop, House and Popping.

A transformative shift came in 2016 when he delved into contemporary dance, prompting his move from Romania to Barcelona. There, he honed his skills at the professional programs Varium and Freebodies.

Vlad’s talent has taken him across Europe, performing as a substitute in acclaimed pieces such as Non-Upgraded Existence by Nadine Gerspacher, Scotoma by Lisard Tranis and Clémentine Télesfort, Ahotzak by Ziomara Hormaetxea, and Tempo by Toni Mira.

In 2023, he co-created the duet St. Earnest with Nadine Gerspacher.

VLAD LON

Performer

Armande Sanseverino, trained at Cobosmika in Spain and the Jasmin Vardimon Junior Company in England, also studied visual arts.

Since 2019, she has co-founded the «Masdame» company with Camille Revel and launched the «Arrêt Danse» festival in Rodez.

Her work with Cia Nadine Gerspacher includes the piece das innere Beben. Armande also participates as an Actor-Dancer in Faustine Noguès’ upcoming creation Les Essentielles, set for 2024-2025.

ARMANDE SENSEVERINO

Performer

Andréa Vibert, a French dancer from Guadeloupe, started her career in ballet before expanding her focus to dance-theatre.

After performing in Brazil and earning a Humanities degree in France, she trained at Varium and FRE3BODIES in Barcelona from 2019 to 2022.

Andréa joined Cia Nadine Gerspacher in 2022 for Das innere Beben and is currently furthering her theater skills at Présence d’Acteurs in Toulouse.

Her dance style blends theatricality and visual imagery, creating a unique experimental approach.

ANDRÈA VIBERT

Performer

Hanna May Porlon is a Contemporary Dancer who began her dance training in Martinique in 2000 at the Fabienne MARAJO dancing school.

She’s specializing in Jazz, Bharatanatyam, Bêle, and Modern. Her journey continued at the Choreographic Center Mathea Vendetta in Aurillac before she moved to Barcelona in 2018 to complete the creation and performance programs at Fre3bodies and Varium.

After finishing her apprenticeship at BNM (Ballet National de Marseille) in 2021, Hanna May has been working with various European companies as a freelancer.

She currently performs in DAS INNERE BEBEN.

HANNA MAY PORLON

Performer

Originally from Uruguay, Genaro Cibils has been a vibrant presence in Europe’s dance scene since 2005.

His dance style is a compelling fusion of floorwork, breakdance, acrobatics, contemporary dance, and classical techniques.

Genaro’s artistic journey includes performances with various European dance companies and competitive appearances in international breakdance events.

In addition to his performance career, he is a talented composer and creator of performance pieces.

Since 2022, Genaro has been a vital part of Cia Nadine Gerspacher, contributing to the piece DAS INNERE BEBEN.

GENARO CIBILS

Performer

Raphaëlle Sablic, a contemporary dancer from France, has pursued diverse training programs across various locations.

She began at the Ballet du Nord in Lille, obtaining her EAT contemporary certification, and continued at La Manufacture in Aurillac.

Raphaëlle furthered her education at Varium in Barcelona and joined the young company Freebodies for two years.

As a freelance artist, she collaborates with multiple companies, including Cia Nadine Gerspacher in the piece Das innere Beben, Cie Bittersweet, Cie Luskan, Cie D’Elles and DU-ENTRO.

RAPHAELLE SABLIC

Performer

Aran Vázquez is a contemporary dancer born in the Catalan Pyrenees, where she began dancing and was influenced by various styles.

In 2021, she moved to Barcelona to pursue professional training at Varium Dansa, Free Roots (2022-23), and Free Bodies (2023-24). As a dancer and performer, she has worked with Cia. Vero Cendoya and Cia. Nadine Gerspacher, and she is beginning to create small projects in collaboration with other artists.

Through the isolation of the body, the abstraction of movement, and the poetry of theatricality, Aran enjoys exploring the limits of the body.

ARAN VAZQUES

Performer

Mikkel Alexander is a movement artist and choreographer based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Mikkel’s education includes training at the Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance in Munich, and his professional experience features roles as a performer with different international companies.

He founded a youth driven theatre association in Denmark at the age of 18 years old and has been creating ever since.

In 2023 he appeared as a choreographer in collaboration with dancers from the Royal Ballet, Tivoli Ballet, and Danish Dance Theatre at the festival CPH-MADE hosted at the Royal Danish Theatre.

In 2023 he received the Margarita Arnaudova Award for this choreographic work ‘Oblivious Days’ with the dance company Ballet Arabesque at the National Musical Theatre in Sofia, Bulgarian. Mikkel is performer of THE AGE OF AQUARIUM.

MIKKEL ALEXANDER

Lotta Sandborgh is a dance artist from Sweden currently based in Brussels.

Since graduating from Iwanson in 2018 she has been working with different choreographers and companies around Europe.

Her latest collaborations are Ultima Vez/Wim Vandekeybus and Staatstheater Braunschweig. S

he had the pleasure of working with Cia. Nadine Gerspacher with the production Age of Aquarium in 2019. 

Lotta also continues to teach and perform her own work on international stages and festivals around Europe.

LOTTA SANDBORGH

Performer

Jefta Tanate is a Dutch/Moluccan artist who graduated from the ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem, The Netherlands.

Over the last decade, she has worked on various performance projects, including tours around the world. His work has earned him nominations such as the 2017 and 2022 ‘de Zwaan’ awards for best performance.

Now, as an apprentice at Theater a/d Rijn, she continues to develop her art, with themes such as ‘home’ as the central theme of her work.

With the support of SHIFFT, she created her first production in 2023, “Even Onions Don’t Make Me Cry.” His production, which is touring nationally in the Netherlands, is called “Domeless”.

Now, he is ready to create more and perfect his art.

JEFTA TANATE

Performer

Hellen (NL/RUS/ARG) is a contemporary dancer based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She graduated from the Dancer/Maker department at The Institute of Art, ArtEZ.

She worked with choreographers such as Caroline Finn, Felix Landerer, Kwame Asafo Adjei, Nicole Beutler, Sophie Mayeux, Jasper Van Luijk, Nadine Gerspacher, George Reischl, Michal Freriks, Anna Abalikhina, Mikhail Kolegov.

She joined several dance projects in NDCWales and Landerer & Company.

Alongside dancing in projects, she has assisted Roser Lopez Espinosa and the NEON collective, and trained with David Zambrano Passing Through and Flying Low in Corfu. 

Hellen likes to work with the combination of theatricality and technicality of a performer, showing his/her personality through the embodiment of a specific statement, idea, or desire.

In every work, she wants the performers as well as the audience to experience the real world through abstraction, movements, and symbols to underline the subtext of our existence.

HELEN BOYKO

Performer

Jonathan Sanchez is French performer and dance maker. He performs for several companies and projects such as PLAY, Michèle Murray (fr) Toula Limnaios (de), the street-performing company Tango Sumo (fr), Rafaele Giovanola, Cocoon Dance Company (de) among others. From 2017 to 2022, Jonathan is actively part of the Sita Ostheimer Company (SOCOMPANY) as a dancer, rehearsal director, and choreographic assistant.

He’s a guest choreographer and teacher for different professional programs and workshops.

He co-creates in 2024 the structure PIRATE’S GOSPEL together with Aurore Lacombe as well as he co-creates The grand escape together with nadine gerspacher .

JONATHAN SANCHEZ

Performer

Josep Maria Baldomá is a versatile musician, sound creator, and composer whose career spans various musical genres. After relocating to Barcelona, he joined several bands and pursued studies in Audiovisual Communication and music production.

Josep has crafted music for dance pieces, theater, and short films, and has played grand piano for silent films at the Filmoteca de Catalunya.

He has also released a debut album with his electronic-organic music duo, Connectome, presented at the Sónar Festival. Since 2016, Josep has been composing for Cia Nadine Gerspacher, contributing his soundscapes to their productions.

JOSEP MARIA BALDOMÀ

Steffen Melch began his career as a lighting technician in electronic music as a light VJ, evolving into a passionate lighting designer for dance and music.

His journey started at E-WERK Freiburg, where he developed his passion and skills. He began creating lighting designs for contemporary dance.

Since 2021, Steffen has collaborated with independent groups such as VAGI, Sandra Hanschitz, and PANOPTIKUM.

His focus is on conceptual multimedia solutions that enhance the staging of contemporary art. Steffen has been working with Cia Nadine Gerspacher since 2022, bringing his innovative lighting design to their projects.

STEFFEN MELCH

Since 1995, Oli Lorenz has been a freelance lighting technician, designer, and operator.

He has worked on countless projects both domestically and internationally, including collaborations with Aktionstheater Pan.Optikum (“il Corso,” “Medea,” “The Civil Wars,” “Orpheus,” “Ballgefühl,” “TRANSITion,” “Power of Diversity,” “PPP People Power Partnership”); productions at Theater Freiburg (Kleines Haus, Kammertheater); as a lighting technician and operator at Europa-Park Rust; projects at E-Werk Freiburg (dance, theater, music); the SeaYou Festival at Tunisee (techno festival); projects with the Next Step Freiburg dance school; Internationale Kulturbörse Freiburg; as well as realization and design for Cia Nadine Gerspacher.

OLI LORENZ

Lighting designer. Technician

Albert Ventura, a graduate in Scenography from the Institut del Teatre and Applied Arts from La Massana.

He designs stage space and lighting and is highly specialized in their construction. His recent projects include ST. EARNEST by Cia Nadine Gerspacher, premiered in Freiburg, Euforia y Desazón directed by Sergio Boris at Temporada Alta 2024, Fantàstic Funeral Festiu by Produït per HIIIT directed by Roger Torns at Teatre Tantarantana and Tot el que passarà a partir d’ara by Joan Yago directed by Gloria Balanyà at Teatre Lliure.

Albert’s work is distinguished by its imaginative and precise design, enhancing each performance with a unique visual dimension.

With twenty years of experience in cultural management, Mayte Luque specializes in supporting and producing dance projects for emerging artists.

Her expertise is a valuable asset to the company, where she collaborates on production tasks and funding research.

Mayte’s dedication to fostering new talent ensures that fresh, innovative dance projects continue to thrive.

Akimbo Future is a multimedia artist born in the southern United States. Fashion and costume design play a significant role in his artistic creation, always focusing on upcycling, anti-fashion, and gender neutrality.

He worked for many years as a freelance costume designer in New Orleans. He studied Technical Fashion Design at Los Angeles Trade Tech before moving to Barcelona, where he currently lives.

He creates the costumes for „DAS INNERE BEBEN“ and „EDITH“.

Aurelie Veyrat is an emerging artist whose passion for movement and visual arts shines through in her work.

As a self-taught photographer, she captures the dynamic energy and essence of her subjects with a unique perspective influenced by her background as a dancer. Aurelie’s creative exploration extends into videodance and graphic design, adding layers of creativity and dynamism to her projects.

Her photography reflects a deep respect and admiration for her subjects, aiming to capture their true essence and spirit.

Nicolas Clausen is a visionary whose passion for audiovisual art knows no bounds.

His journey through photography, video, sound, and music is fueled by a profound desire to bring stories and moments to life.

This passion led him from Brazil and Argentina to Barcelona, where he immerses himself in the vibrant world of festivals and events. Nicolas has directed captivating commercials for iconic brands such as Nike, Royl, Sofia, Campari, Timesburg, and Tiffany & Co.

In 2020, he collaborated with Freebodies and Cia Nadine Gerspacher on the groundbreaking works Non-Upgraded Existence and RE. Through his art, Nicolas Clausen invites audiences to experience and feel deeply, as he himself does in his creative endeavors.

Since 2013, André Barros has been immersed in the world of musical creation and production. In 2022, he expanded his horizons to include show promotion and sales with Big Story Productions in Barcelona, focusing on notable companies such as Lali Ayguadé and Cia Nadine Gerspacher.

André’s dedication to his craft continues to drive his success in the performing arts industry.
